Practicing self-care is a radical act these days. When we are called to push forward without pausing and grind on without a break it's a radical act of self-care to claim the time to deeply care for yourself. In this workshop you'll learn accessible, mindful movements to guide your body deeper towards relaxation, practical tips to build or enhance your personal restorative practice, and expert tips on how to use what you have to rest and restore.
Here's what you can expect:
Learn practical ways to guide your body to rest through movement.
Get effective ideas on how to build your personal restorative practice with minimal props.
Practice accessible movements that you can take with you into your daily life for a momentary restorative break or include them in a longer practice.
Explore rooting and opening the body with accessible, fun movements so you can learn to guide yourself to rest when you need it most.
Lots of personal attention and individualized suggestions for your personal restorative practice at home.
Ultimately, we'll end with a lengthy restorative and Yoga Nidra practice at twilight in Central Park.
Perks: Everyone who signs up will receive a 30-day access to Michelle's Pure Restorative practice and be entered into a raffle to win a meditation prop kit from Emerging Green which includes a handwoven meditation cushion, a bamboo meditation bench and 3 bamboo paper journals to support your meditation practice.
Recommended Props: A yoga mat, and one blanket or bath towel, (and yoga blocks, if you have them) and a pair of socks and anything you'd like to keep yourself warm during restorative and Yoga Nidra. We will focus on using minimal props, but please feel free to bring as many (or as few) props as you like to support your personal practice. But please don't let props deter you from coming -- all you really need is yourself!
Location: We'll meet at the Cedar Hill Lawn in Central Park, East 79th Street & 5th Avenue entrance (map)
Weather: In the event of inclement weather, this workshop will be held over Zoom.
